EasyCruise sold to Hellenic Seaways
28 Aug 2009
Greek ferry company Hellenic Seaways has acquired easyCruise, founded by Stelios Haji-Ioannou in 2005.
easyCruise currently operates the 12,000-ton easyCruise Life in the Eastern Mediterranean, and the deal includes the vessel, the operating company and the easyCruise brand name. "This market is part of the new investment plans of the company and marks the entrance to cruising," said Hellenic Seaways, which operates a fleet of 32 fast ferries in Greece. The move comes after easyCruise founder Sir Stelios invested in Sea Star Capital, one of the main share holders of Hellenic Seaways.
